Q: Bug Spray for Dogs?

I live in upstate NY, about as far north as you can get without being in Canada. I have a 6 month old yellow lab, and my mother has two older labs as well. We have large field and small wood lot out back of my mothers house. We take our dogs out back to play everday to play ball and walk through the woods. The problem is that we have a huge deer fly population. Even just being outside near the house the dogs or under attack non stop. Both my mothers yellow and my yellow lab try swelll up so bad they look like prize fighters at the end of the night. Is there any type of bug spray for dogs, or anything else we can use to keep them from getting attacked and bit? If you have a puppy you know there no way I can't be outside with him after getting hom from work

There's that new off that you can attach to your belt and it covers everything around you. Adams has a spray that helps with insects on your dog, but keep it away from the face. Read the labels of everything. Sad thing is that mosquitos cause heartworms so you need to give Heartgard to your dogs if mosquitos are in the area. Deer flies don't cause anything that I know of, but ticks cause Lymne disease so be careful with the walks in the woods. Check out google search or Bing search Dr. Jon Also check out www.akc.org and look under labradors as a breed and see what it says.
