Q: Best toys to "share"...destructive chewer and one smart playful fetcher
September 21, 2009 | By Jessica P. | 6 answers | Expired: 1353 days ago
I have two dogs. One 90 pound rotti who loves to destroy toys in 5 minutes. My other dog loves playing with toys, throwing them to himself, and also playing fetch. I am wondering if anyone has found that perfect toy (not just ball or rubber) that can survive chewing, can be thrown easily and dogs like? Fresco has decided since his toys are kept up (away from Ruxbin) that pillows, socks, shoes are good replacements..Help!

The toys that I have found that hold up best are Kongs. They survive chewing and you can put treats in them. I have also used them as fetch toys with my dog; they don't bounce straight like a ball so my dog doesn't know for sure where it iwll go. I have had the same problem trying to find toys that hold up to my powere chewer and the list is short.

I used to have a couple of power chewers too! Kong toys were the only ones that held up. They also make a super kong that really lasts! There is one other brand that might work. They are a 'soft' toy by Go Dog with chew guard. I found them at Petsmart.

Check into Tuffy brand plush toys, they are super huge and guaranteed tough.
