There are many things that contribute to my happiness, although joy in life might be a better way of putting it. My strong faith tops the list. Friends and family, of course. And my cat definitely falls in the category of "family". Being retired, spending lots of time with my 85-year-old mum, volunteering at the Humane Society, being active in church, native plant gardening, reading. I guess those are the top things, although it certainly isn't an exhaustive list.

There is no single reason why I am happy. Maybe it's because I try to have the attitude to "bloom where you're planted". Enjoy the blessing you have now and don't worry about what others have or you don't have.

I'm happy that after 50 years of working an outside job, I have retired. Walking my dog whenever I want, I have made many new people and doggie friends (over 70 dogs in our neighborhood)...In the nicer, warmer months I am able to spend time in the Northwoods without worry about getting back to the city for work. And I can volunteer my time to do anything I please. Life is great! but I earned it, too.

My girlfriend's love makes me happy. My family and friends do too, and of course my cats do! I think a big part of staying happy is achieving things and moving foward each day. I always feel happy when I'm progressing in life.

One could always be happier. I guess I would be happier if I didn't have to work and could spend more time volunteering for good causes.

My pets also make me happy. I could have the worst day at work, and go home & there's always at least one of my pets that does something goofy or cute that makes me smile. I like to help animals and people as much as I can. It makes me feel good to help those who need it, even if I don't know the person or the animal, I help, I know they appreciate it, I would.

It takes very little to make me happy or amused. A warm day...a long walk with the dogs...a movie with my husband complete with popcorn...teaching the dogs a new trick.

Best part of every day is the welcome home I get from my dogs..they have protected the home front and all is well in our world.

Im vey happy. If I do have a stressful day at work, I can come home feed, clean, groom any of our pets and everything seems all good and relaxed again. Pets bring you back.
