Are you being asked to join facebook?

When writing journals, I am being asked to join facebook. I have been asked by friends to do this before. I am wondering how safe and secure this really is. I really don't care to have personal information and photographs all over the world even though it's just about that far on zootoo anyway. I was just wondering how safe you all feel with it?

Facebook is really good. Myspace does not have good privacy and is not very safe, but with facebook you can put how much privacy you want. People can't be your friends unless you accept them. And for like photos and privacy you can either have just your friends see or your friends friends or everyone. hope this helps

A while ago I was on MySpace but eventually left it because there seemed to be too many problems with privacy and making sure I had control over my information. I've been on Facebook for almost a year now and it has been much better. For one thing, it is easier to get the hang of. And as far as privacy goes, Facebook does a much better job than MySpace as far as letting you know how to set up a webpage.

My brother has a face book .Im asked to join face book all the time. I'd get one, my brother says it's fun. I cant have one 'till im 13 (i'm 12 just so ya know). But my parents have one too, and they think it's great! They're on their facebooks all the time. They say its a great way to get in touch with your old friends.

Just a couple day's ago when i uploaded a photo to the zoo, i was asked if i wanted to upload the photo to Facebook... I am not signed up to facebook nor do i want to join at this point.
Just thought it was odd because i was never asked this before.

Michele has the answer, it is a service that is asking if you want to add to your facebook. I would say go with your gut feeling, if you do not feel comfortable with any of the social networking sites, don't do it.

On Facebook you can control who sees your information. There are various levels of privacy - anyone can see, only friends can see, friends of friends can see, etc.. I have mine set to "only my friends can see". However, I don't post a lot of information there - I do some photos that my friends can view and I don't play the games either. I view the games and applications as pretty much like opening spam or attachments on e-mail - you never know what you're getting into.

I did have a journal yesterday where I got a message asking if I wanted to link it to Facebook. That's the first time that's ever happened and I'm not sure why.

I've had friends and family invite me to join facebook, not Z2. I don't like the idea of being that public. I don't want to share with that many people no matter what they say about privacy. Recently on the news was an incident were someone "stole" a picture of a strangers baby and used that picture for a scam to adopt a child. That's just plain creepy!

I agree with Michele. I don't think we are being asked to joing facebook, but this will allow journals to be posted to our facebook accounts if we want. I am just ignoring it and going on with my zootooing. I have a facebook acct., but I am not posting my journals there.

I too, have a facebook account...but I don't post there as much as I do here....Z2 is always my favorite place to be...But anytime you post anything online, it's "out there" for all to see.....So if you don't want it to be seen by someone, you might not want to post a pic or anything else someone else could see.

I will not be posting anything to Facebook or anywhere else. I don't trust most of the internet anymore. I have had friends tell me stories about stuff they posted that was 'lifted' and put on other sites. I worry about that enough on here.
