Q: Are rawhide chews good for dogs?

I don't like them as one time they got caught in my dogs throat. I had to get it out with my hand. Some of them are better then others. But I wouldn't take a chance again. There are to many other items on the market to choice from.

Rawhide is not easily digestible. Some dogs have no problems chewing and eating rawhide, others may exhibit intestinal problems (loose stools) after injesting rawhide. Also, if you have a dog that will swallow a large piece of rawhide whole, it can cause blockages.

I too give my dogs rawhides but in moderation. My dogs like getting them wet and then playing with them, then they become outside toys.
