Q: Are hot dogs bad for my dog

My dogs love turkey dogs and my girlfriend gives them to them, in my opinion, a little too often. Can you let me know if it's ok and if so how often?

I really don't recommend giving your dog hot dogs. for treats occasionally that okay. if you want to do training with them that's okay, but it is better to use dog food. giving too much is definitely not good. dog food is better because it is already in small pebbles that are easy to give to your dog. they also don't have a lot o fat that is unnecessary for a dog.

Personally, I think it gives them tummy aches becuase whenever I give my schnauzers table scrapsm burgers, or hotdogs, they mope around the rest of the day and sleep, sometimes they throw it up(no reson to be gross, or anything).

using either turkey or regular hot dogs as training treats certaily will be viwed as a most special reward. But both should be given only as quite small pieces, & I would definitely limit the number of pieces given per day. Save these as an extra special reward, either for accomplishing a task well that you've been working on for a while, or as a special surprise treat for performing a task that the dog does not particularly enjoy doing too often.
