What do people think of the balls that you can buy for the hamster to run around the room in? Are they fun for the hamster or are they just moving along as they're trying to get out? Many thanks for your views.

I have to say that you have a really good question. Only a hamster really knows the answer to that one!

I would think they would like it.
What does your hamster do? Does he fight to go in it, or does he go willingly? Does he fight to come out, or try to escape? Let his actions guide you.
Good luck!

They are made specifically to meet the needs of hamsters so they are safe for them. They are dangerous if you put other small animal species in there. Many of the other smaller animals have fragile spines that can be injured in them.

I have a 1 year old black bear hamster and recently bought a hamster ball for her for her birthday. She seems to have a blast in it. We watch her go around the room and stop to sniff and roll some more. To me it's an extension of her running on her wheel but this actually goes somewhere. We only leave her in it for about 10 minutes, always supervised and then put her back in her cage and clean it out. Hope that helps a little : )
