Q: ARE DOGS COLOR BLIND?

Color blind dogs is an outdated theory and has been proven in studies.
They see colors differently, but can discern reds from greens and blues from yellow and so on. Andie's journal is an excellent source.
Surprisingly, animals that see colors as well or better than humans are colorful birds. When colors are central to an animals' social competitiveness with other animals (ie. peacocks, parrots, parakeets, robins, etc), you can assume confidently that they see colors.

They aren't color blind in the sense that they see no color, they just see colors differently than us. I wrote a journal entry on this that gives a lot of detail so you might want to check it out.
