Q: Anyone know how to get "old dogs" not to be so aggressive?

My husband has been deployed and my dogs have gotten more and more protective the longer he's been gone. I can't get them to let people in the house, and the downside of that is that they end up having to be penned in the garage or in one of the bedrooms while company is here. This is two-fold upsetting because they really are sweet dogs, they just are very very traumatized by him not being here and are in full-on protective mode. Daisy will only bark non-stop at people, but Dudley has gotten so that if people ignore her barking and come in anyways, he will sniff them and then curl his lip at them. He even snapped at one of our friends. I think I need a doggie psychologist! Help!

I think you should ask your vet about some type of pill or treat that will help calm them down. Good luck!
