Q: Anybody watch Oprah on Friday?

February 22, 2009 | By Bonnie M. | 24 answers | Expired: 2111 days ago

Bonnie M.

It was at the end of the show on Friday, but Oprah had rescued Yorkshire terriers from a puppy mill in Missouri. Broke my heart to see what they came out of , but at the same time was so happy they were out of those horrid conditions. Ninety dogs, all in rehab now, but soon up for adoption. Hooray for Oprah shedding a national spotlight on this atrocity, again.

I didn't see the show but I'm glad that she is an advocate against puppy mills. Maybe with her clout and backing and some other high profile celebs they can help pressure congress to ban all puppy mills.

I didn't see the show. That is so sad! I'm glad they were rescued and I'm glad someone in the spotlight is talking about puppy mills. I think everyone should adopt animals from shelters. Don't go out and pay hundreds of dollars for a "purebred" especially since most purebreds have health problems!

I didn't see it, but my mom did. She was upset at how the dogs looked and couldn't understand why they would show such graphic photos. I told her that's the only way to educate people about puppy mills and get them to stop supporting them.

I don't watch Oprah, but she has an incredible base. Anything she presents goes to a really wide audience, so this show can only do good things for animals.

I didn't see it but I know Missouri is one of the largest puppy mill states. I regret that since I live here. There are many people involved trying to bring awareness to the issue and ways to prevent. Oprah takes it to a national dialogue.

Yeah Hoooray for Oprah. Good for her. What about the rest of us that have been rescuing all along? I'm glad she's rescuing and all but many more did a lot more before she became involved her chocolate eating, soap opera watching fans wanted to see it.
