Q: Any tips on hosting a dog wash fundraiser?
Our rescue wants to do a dog wash fundraiser. We have the location, hoses/water, & shampoo figured out, but how do you organize the actual washing, how to hold....so on and so forth?

Once you decide a time/date/place to hold the washing. Get all of the supplies and volunteers together to discuss a "working/volunteering sched". Keep someone in charge of all main aspects, advertise(flyers, newspaper and local news). The rest should be pretty easy. Best of luck to your shelter!

we did this where i worked to raise money for our friends pit rescue. she had a pit who was emaciated and so sick. we made flyers and handed them out at work, gave them to pet stores and other places that would hand them out for us. we put adds on our myspaces, facebooks, anywhere we could. i hung them in my apartment complex. we put them on peoples doorsteps. we washed over 200 dogs and raised over $1000.

Just be very careful washing the dogs. Not all dogs are friendly and may not like having a bath. I would ask the owner if the dog has ever shown aggression, before you wash it.
