Animal care from a wheelchair?

i'm in a manual wheelchair and was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to walk/play with my dog while maintaining her safety.

For walking, if you have a problem with you dog getting too close to the wheels, you could try threading the leash through a piece of PVC pipe of a desired length, then he wouldn't be able to get too close.

As for play, a ChuckIt! ball thrower sounds like it would work well for you. If you dog will drop the ball near your chair, you can pick it up easily without having to bend over.
