have you read is new book izzy and lenore? I just got it and am anxious to start it. He talks about his hospice visits and I am a hospice volunteer so.... I'll have to check out some of his other books.

I love Black Beauty. It is one of the greatest stories I have read. My grandma gave me that book when I was young and I remember reading it and crying.

I wrote a journal of my favorite animal books a few weeks ago. I cut and pasted it for you. Anyone who reads this- keep up the recommendations. I love to read especially a good animal book!!! Here is my journal post:

I read ALL the time. If I could get paid for it I would be rich. I read all types of books, and I decided to make a list of animal books I would recommend to my Zootoo friends. Here they are in no order:

Broadway Tails

Dewey the Library Cat

Miracle Dog: How Quentin Survived the Gas Chamber to Speak for Animals on Death Row

The Man Who Talks to Dogs: The Story of Randy Grim and His Fight to Save America's Abandoned Dogs

All dog books by Jon Katz (although The New Work of Dogs depressed me)

Cesar Millan's books

I also read a great book last year about a lady who rescued a horse, but I can't remember the name. It was non-fiction.

That's all I can think of for now. . If anyone reads this journal and has suggestions, please send to me just don't tell me to read Marley and Me- I didn't like it.

I loved "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle"! It just came out fall of 2008 and is extremely well written story about breeding dogs and a mute boy. It's a must read!

black beauty is my all time favorite. it was the first novel i ever read. and everytime i run out of books again i re-read it. i'm in love. i also like the warrior and seeker series. marley and me is pretty good too.

I like all of Jon Katz's books, especially "The Dog Year", but I think Marley & Me is my favorite dog book.
