Q: Animal abuse by celebrities

It would be wonderful to make an extreme example out of the celebs, but the law is the law, and they should be treated just like everyone else.

That being said, the punishment for any kind of animal cruelty/abuse/neglect should be severe to say the least - much more than it is now - for everyone. I want them to shake in their boots at the mere thought.

They should be sentenced like everybody else. I think the judge in the DMX case was right to address him by his given name, not his rapper name, by way of saying: In the eyes of the law, your celebrity makes no difference.

I don't think the sentence for celebrities should be any more severe than for we "regular" folks. But I do think the punishment for all animal abuse needs to be much more serious in this country. A person who will hurt animals probably doesn't think much of people either, so who knows what he or she will do next?
