Q: About my cats

July 31, 2008 | By INPINK | 1 answer | Expired: 2209 days ago

I found this kitten on the street and I brought her inside my house. She is doing a lot better she is either a month in a half or two months old. My other cat is three years old and she hisses at her and she paws at her. What can I do that will make my first cat feel better about the younger cat? I show my older cat love and everything so why is she doing this. Yes my older cat has been around other cats and she has done good but with the kitten she doesn't. Can you please help me find out why?

When I brought my kitten home, my older cat hissed and ran away from her, too. First I introduced them slowly. I kept them separated for about 5 days. They could only smell and hear each other through a closed door. Once I finally introduced them, I made sure that I supervised each time that they were together. It may just take time. Try to be patient and I would suggest that you make sure that you are with them at all times until you are sure that the kitten is safe.
