Q: Abby Playing with Cat Toys?
Abby seems to enjoy cat toys but only the ones that are stuffed and have catnip in them she doesn't tear them apart she just throws them around or plays fetch with them I wanted to know is this a bad thing could she get sick from the catnip if she were to rip a toy open or sick from the smell of it she seems to really like the catnip toys most of all I wanted to get her one for christmas but I have heard even catnip that is years old has a scent and the cat can still smell it the one she plays with most is a pink frog she also likes a green mouse the frog is about a year old and the mouse is from when Shorty was just a kitten so I am wondering could the catnip make her sick if so I don't want her to continue playing with cat toys but she really likes them please help?

I used to have a chow who would bury his face in the catnip plant. It doesn't have the same effect on dogs as it does on cats, but it's not at all dangerous. As a matter of fact, it can be quite beneficial if the eat it. It helps that the edge off of anxious dogs and it can help relieve diarrhea and gas.
