Do you agree with this mantra? Why or why not? Should people take on more pets than they can reasonably afford? Should people have a separate credit card or bank account strictly FOR medical emergencies? I want to hear your thoughts on this!

My cat will be inside all of the time. He is clawing at the furniture, our legs and arms when he plays. I got him a scratch post but it doesn't seem to help.
