Review Details
One summer I found a dog in the street, panting, wobbling and acting disoriented. I lured him into my yard, fed him and gave him water. He began throwing up. It was a Sunday but I started calling to see if I could bring him somewhere or if someone would pick him up. Animal control said they would send someone out. By time they got there, hours later, the dog had become really sick. He could hardly walk and was constantly vomiting. I became very concerned. However, Animal Control showed up without a microchip scanner and told me that they couldn't take him unless he was aggressive or dead. I told the guy that this dog could become aggressive as he got sicker and sicker but he would not take him. As the night went on he was so sick he could not stand up. I took him to the Animal Emergency Clinic where they checked him for a micro chip which he did have. But when they called the guy he said he had kicked out his girlfriend and her dog. The poor baby had eaten anti-freeze and was so sick they euthanized him. It had been dangerous for me even drive with him in the car as I had been crying so hard. I felt like Animal Control could have been more prepared, shown more care and control over the situation instead of putting me at risk trying to do their job. My heart was broken and I'll never forget my friend that I found. I wrote a letter to Animal Control without any response. It was so sad.
