Management techniques are in order
posted 5 years ago
I feel sorry for the animals here, but because of the open-minded wardens, they are being more highly considered. We have been volunteering the best we can long-distance, but it would be nice to have regular dog-walkers, health assessment teams and someone to regularly photograph and update a website for this pound.
Pros: The ACO's are willing to do all they can
Cons: I wish there were volunteers from the county to help out

Working hard
posted 5 years ago
Our group has worked with Appomattox & taken some of their animals to go to Petsmart or on transports. Their adoption rate is improving, but could be better. From what I've heard, their AC officer is on good terms with ours, & they have worked together when needed.
Pros: they are improving adoption rates
Cons: limited facility

AWAG used to do much more with fostering animals, but with little in the way of outside financial support had to draw back. Their focus now is on spay/neuter, which is a great long-term idea. Appomatt… more ›
